Shaped Clay
You have friends, then you have friends like Barbie Hight. Friends who love you with a love like Jesus, build you up and are always a phones length away. I met Barbie in Africa (you can read that story here) and the Lord knew what He was doing when He united us as friends.
Yesterday Barbie became Mrs. Estes and she gifted me this communion set. It’s made from scrap pieces that the potter threw away as waste. The potter then took the wasted pieces and handmade something beautiful. It is so imperfect, yet so beautiful and I’d like to think thats how God looks at us. He takes all of our wasted things and reshapes them to what He wants us to be that is more beautiful than we could ever even dream up on our own.
When her mom read the card about how it was made, I cried and then well everyone started crying. This past year has been a year of great loos, but it has been a year of great growth. Over the past several years I have went through so of the most unthinkable things, but I SEE HIM in every singl step when I look back. I am so thankful God loves us enough not to leave us the way He finds us and that He loves us enough to send people into our lives.
This year one of my favorite scriptures has been……”Be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].” 1 Corintians 15:58.
I love that God promises NOTHING IS WASTED, nothing is without purpose that we go through!
A few more scriptures on The Potter and clay.
I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, shaping it as seen best to him. Jeremiah 18:3-4
But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8
McLendon Pottery is the maker of this beautiful piece.
