Glacier National Park Engagement Session
This Glacier National Park engagement session not on my list of things to do while traveling. A few weeks ago I planned a last-minute trip to Glacier National Park (personal post link). One thing you may not know is that I am known for being the queen of last-minute trip planning! I haven’t traveled much this year and I was getting to the point where I couldn’t stay at home anymore.
One night I was sitting at home editing a wedding and I got the urge to travel. A friend had gone to Glacier and her photos intrigued me. Glacier National Park had been on the bucket list to travel to, but I hadn’t planned a time I’d try to go. I looked up Glacier on Instagram and I was left speechless. The photos I was seeing were incredible. I had to go! So I started searching for places to stay and flights. I booked my cabin and used my airline points and I was set to travel to Glacier the following week!
As I started thinking about things I wanted to do when I arrived a thought popped in my head. I should shoot a Glacier National Park engagement session. When I travel to these amazing places I NEVER work. I always take my camera, but I photograph landscapes and animals, not people.
The Couple
A few days later I had found a couple that had just got engaged. Eric and Paige met onlline. He was traveling to Glacier National Park and she lived in Whitefish, MT a small town close to the park. They started talking during that trip but didn’t meet until later. As the story goes, they fell in love, got engaged, and they are getting married in March! When they met I sure they didn’t think they’d be having a Glacier National Park engagement session!
Paige and I messaged back and forth that week about locations, time, and clothing. We narrowed down all things and planned out their engagement session. After I arrived to Glacier and explore I narrowed the locations down. I wanted to photograph their engagement session at a location that screamed Glacier. My final pick was Logan’s pass and areas around that location.
My last night in Glacier I met up with Eric and Paige. I had a blast shooting their engagement session. For me, there was a lot of first during this session, one being having to carry bear spray. There’s something unnerving about having to watch for grizzly bears while photographing. Paige and Eric were so fun to work with. They were fun and adventurous and now Paige can say she hiked the Highline Trail in high heels!
Congratulations guys! I can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for your future!
