The Omni Grove Park Inn, Asheville NC
A Grove Park Inn wedding is something I’ve had on my bucket list for a long time, so when I received the call from Karoline and Brandon wanting to book me for their wedding there I won’t lie I hung up the phone and did a little happy dance (or maybe a big happy dance). The Omni Grove Park Inn has been on my personal bucket list to shoot at for a while for several reasons including the history of the hotel and the beauty of Asheville. Grove Park Inn weddings are a little hard to come by, for even the best photographers in Asheville, NC so when I got this chance I was pumped. I’m a nerd like that, I have a bucket list of places I want to shoot weddings at but if you’ve ever been to Asheville and stopped in at the Inn you’ll know why a Grove Park wedding is a must on any professional photographers list. The Grove Park Inn is over 100 years old and a must visit to anyone looking for things to do in Asheville, NC, even if it’s just to enjoy their spas services. Why they had a Grove Park Inn Wedding
The odd thing about this wedding is that Karoline and Brandon live in Charleston, SC. If you don’t know Charleston, SC is one of the top wedding destinations in America and I was very surprised that this Charleston bride would now be a Asheville bride, but after we spoke I totally got it. The couple wanted an intimate Asheville wedding with their friends and family which live all around the country and wanted to be able to spend time with them all in the same place for a few days. When I found out that Karoline was an interior designer in Charleston, SC I knew her wedding would be nothing but top-notch and that it was! Designer gown, designer shoes and everything in between to make for a wedding that would make The Grove Park Inn proud to host her and Brandon’s wedding.
Their Wedding Day
The day was filled with laugher as their guests arrived from all over the country. Slowly the day unfolded to a chilled laid back environment of wedding bliss, great good, amazing live music and wine (we can’t forget the wine). The temperature for this summer day was more like fall so they spent the entire evening dancing under the stars and enjoy the beautiful views of Asheville from their own private balcony at the hotel. I have to give a shout out to their coordinator Erin for she exceeded her duties and the staff for taking care of me from the time I arrived until I left like an honored guest. I could write a book on their wedding but I’ll leave you with photos instead!
